From scrolling to race: How did sports clubs replace dating applications

Love match

“I am open to spouses for life,” says Bilinda Huang, one in the twenties who has the natural way at the tennis court. It is a member of TMAC, a club that hosts tennis and social activities outside the field. She says seeing the same faces a week after a week provides friendships, sometimes love, to develop organically, she says, without compressing the first preparation.

TMAC founder, Prince Boucher, shows the best of the following: “Playing is the way; love is the goal.” Although TMAC was not created as a dating axis, its focus on fun, inclusiveness and society has led to many relationships. The club has about 1,000 members spinning.

For those who are not actively looking for romance, TMAC is still a social artery. One of the members, who only gave her first name, MJ, shared that she had never used dating applications and preferred to meet people through joint activities. “It is refreshing to contact something you love instead of trying to force the spark on the screen.”

Sean Lee and Jenna Zhu were a couple when they joined TMAC, but they were an inspiration to obtain a suggestion under the title of tennis thanks to the group. The ring was hidden in a dedicated box in the form of a tennis ball.
