Apple’s Xcode adds OpenAI and Anthropic programming agents


Apple is building AI-powered crypto agents from OpenAI and Anthropic directly into Xcode. new Integration into Xcode 26.3 It will give developers the ability to use Anthropic’s Claude Agent and OpenAI’s Codex to write and edit code, update project settings, search documentation, and more.

Apple is also making Xcode available through the Model Context Protocol, an open source standard that enables developers to connect other AI tools to the app.

News of Apple’s Xcode update comes just one day after the launch of OpenAI Codex application powered by artificial intelligence On Mac, which lets developers write code alongside a team of AI agents. Apple says Xcode 26.3 will be available to Apple Developer Program members starting today, “with a release coming soon to the App Store.”
