If you have a relatively simple floor plan with a lot of high-pile carpeting, the Dyson D-Shape Robot is worth considering. It can traverse obstacles up to 21mm high and delivers a whopping 65 air watts of suction power – twice what many automated robots offer – making it one of the most powerful models our resident smart home reviewer, Jennifer Pattison Toohey, has ever tested. The massive rotating brush is great for getting into corners and reaching the edges of your room due to its location at the front of the vacuum, and it’s equipped with a massive 500ml dustbin that’s easy to remove via an integrated handle.
However, 360 Vis Nav is not without drawbacks. For starters, it doesn’t come with an automatically empty platform and only manages about 65 minutes of runtime, which is roughly half the runtime of most models, including many of the budget robots we’ve tested. It also lacks AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it won’t be able to recognize what to avoid, increasing the risk of it tripping while navigating your home. Sure, the lack of more advanced features could be a deal-breaker for some, but if pure power is what you’re looking for, Dyson’s latest generation robot vacuum is easily the best option for the price – especially right now.
