RedMagic’s thin gaming phone gets a 7,000mAh battery and a cooling fan

The RedMagic 11 Air may have figured out how to fit one of the largest phone batteries available into the slimmest design. Unveiled on Thursday, the new gaming phone has a 7,000 mAh carbon silicon battery and a cooling fan, along with many of the same features as last year’s phone. Red Magic 10S Pro.

the New phone It has the same depth as before Red Magic 10 Air At 7.85 mm (0.3 inches) thick, it’s slightly heavier at 207 grams (7.3 ounces) versus the previous phone’s 205 grams. This is a similar weight and depth to similar phones iPhone 16 Pro from AppleBut the 11 Air’s spec list largely reflects the heavier ones Red Magic 10S Pro Which I tested last year. This phone weighed 229 grams and had a slightly larger 7,050 mAh battery.

Like the 10S Pro, it includes the 11 Air Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor It starts at $529 for the model that includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Upgrading to 16GB and 512GB of storage costs $629.

The phone’s large battery can recharge at 80W – incredibly fast for this price range – and the camera system includes a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 16MP front camera.

RedMagic phones prioritize gaming over everything else, and include a larger 6.85-inch OLED display that runs at a 144Hz refresh rate. It will also include the RedMagic 11 software system, which I wasn’t a fan of when I tested it Red Magic 11 Pro. This software overlay includes custom console-style menus for gaming — which I love — but it also offers questionable options like a default web browser that includes ads.

The RedMagic 11 Air will come in Phantom Black and Prism White, and early bird vouchers for the phone will become available on February 5 ahead of the February 11 open sale date.
