Now these features are arriving on the Ring platform.
Ring customers will be able to receive updates through the new Fire Watch section, which is set up in neighborthe most community-focused part of the Ring app and portal. It is now expanding to include reliable bushfire updates.
New Fire features arrive in Ring apps
Soon, Ring’s Neighbors app will get location-based Watch Duty updates.
Watch Duty will fuel this new fire department in a few different ways. First, real-time Watch Duty apps related to nearby wildfires will pass through alerts in the Ring/Neighbors apps, so your phone will pop up a notification even if you’re not using the Watch Duty.
Second, if you subscribe to Ring Protect for your Ring security cameras, and if there is an ongoing fire alarm in your area, your Ring Camera system You will also jump into action. Ring’s online AI will begin analyzing any recently saved videos for signs of fire, such as smoke or flames, and then send an alert to customers so they know something might be wrong.
Participants can also manually share footage from Ring cameras if they see signs of a fire. These images will be passed to Watch Duty and can be used by first responders when organizing their firefighting plans.
This new partnership hasn’t launched yet, but Ring customers can expect the Fire Watch to start rolling out this spring.
