Nissan is one of the first companies to offer magnetic phone chargers in the United States

The Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi2 standard, finalized in late 2023, includes specifications about using magnets to help properly align wireless coils in chargers and mobile devices. It was an idea It was first introduced by Apple with the MagSafe feature on iPhone 12 lineupBut companies love Google has since adopted it. In the US, the 2026 Nissan Murano, and later the 2026 Pathfinder, will have Qi2-compatible wireless chargers in their center consoles with a raised magnetic mount. Maximum power delivery is 15W – not the faster 25W rates Available with Qi2.2 chargers – But Nissan includes a built-in cooling fan to reduce the risk of the phone shutting down due to high temperature, and to improve charging efficiency. Behind the charger are also LEDs that glow orange when the phone is charging, and turn green when it’s fully charged.
