Homeowners looking for grid independence have another option today with the launch Anker Solix E10 large battery system. It joins companies like Tesla and EcoFlow in offering whole-home backup solutions in the US market that aim to counter power outages and reduce, or even eliminate, monthly energy bills.
The basic $4,299 E10 system starts with a single power unit and a single battery that can keep a few individual devices running, and scale up to power the entire home. A 110.2-pound inverter is good for a constant output of 7.68 kW (or 10 kW for 90 minutes). It can produce up to 28.8 kW (120 LRA) when configured with a single 6 kWh battery, or 37.2 kW (155 LRA) when configured with two or more batteries – enough to start a 5-ton air conditioner. Combine two E10 kits and you get a system capable of handling 66 kW (275 LRA) of excess power.
Combine three max E10 systems to handle up to 27 kW of solar input (9 kW per module) and 90 kWh of battery storage. For context, the average household consumption in the United States About 889 kWh per monthor about 29.2 kilowatt-hours per day, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. This means a maxed out E10 system can power an entire house for three days on battery alone.
For most people, having that much battery capacity is overkill very beloved. Alternatively, you can start with a simpler system to power only the most important circuits. Anker makes this possible in several ways, both of which require professional installation: a new Power Dock electrical panel that gives the homeowner intelligent control and automatically cuts up to 12 circuits (200 amps) in less than 20 milliseconds, and a simpler smart input that requires manual intervention.
The E10 Ecosystem also launches with a weather-resistant, tri-fuel Smart Generator 5500 that runs on gasoline, propane or natural gas. It turns on automatically to keep everything running when needed and will remind owners when service is required.
Anker’s comprehensive and hassle-free installation services for the E10 Solix. Pre-order deals start todaybefore official sales starting on February 4.
Pricing for the basic E10 system (with one inverter and one battery) starts at $4,299. That jumps to $4,599 when you add the Smart Inlet Box, or $5,799 if you go the Power Dock route. For $7,399, you can get the E10 Base System, Smart Generator, and Power Dock kit.
