Samsung’s Ballie robot will probably never come out

Samsung’s Ballie robot may roll off into the sunset, less than a year after its debut Retail launch announced. The smart home robot has appeared at CES almost every year since its debut Announced in 2020but it was noticeably absent at CES 2026. Unfortunately, its disappearance may be due to Ballie being shelved.

In a statement emailed to BloombergSamsung said Ballie is an “active innovation platform” and “continues to inform how Samsung designs spatially aware and context-oriented experiences, particularly in areas such as smart home intelligence, ambient AI, and privacy by design.”

However, there has been no mention of a consumer Android version. There was a flood of AI robots at CES this year, much like Samsung’s competition LG CLOiD robot. Bali, a bright yellow robot the size of a soccer ball With built-in projector and Google Gemini, would be a perfect fit, but it looks like Samsung might not be releasing a BB-8 skin after all.
