Motorola throws its hat in Foldable phone bell. Tuesday at CESThe phone maker unveiled the Motorola Razr Fold, a book-shaped foldable device that is set to compete with competitors such as… Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
Motorola’s foldable phone will become available in North America this summer. Details, so far, are sparse. At a press conference, the company noted that the phone will feature a 6.6-inch external display that “looks just like your everyday smartphone.” Inside will be an 8.1-inch display, slightly beating the 8-inch main screens on Samsung and Google’s foldable phones.
Motorola didn’t share how thin the Razr Fold is, but noted that it is “closed, sleek, thin, and shockingly comfortable to hold.” We’ll have to see how it compares to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is just 4.2mm thick when open and 8.9mm thick when closed. Then there are other slim phones available outside the US, e.g Honor Magic V5 and OPPO Find N5.

The back of the Razr Fold houses a 50-megapixel triple camera system, along with Dolby Vision recording and video stabilization.
Unsurprisingly, Motorola also highlighted the Razr Fold Artificial intelligence capabilities. The phone will come with features that you will also find on the 2025 clamshell model Razr and Razr Ultra Like Catch Me Up to summarize notifications and Next Move, which recommends actions based on what’s on your screen.
The Razr Fold will come in two colors and finishes. There’s a Pantone Blue color on black, with a textured vegan leather finish that Motorola describes as smooth and matte. Or there’s Pantone Lily White, a vegan leather that’s supposed to feel silky and “smooth to the touch.”
Motorola did not share how thin the Razr Fold is, but it showed off the phone’s sleek design in promotional images.
It’s not clear how thin Motorola’s Razr Fold will be, but it will likely follow the trend Thin foldable phones It is set to gain strength in 2026 – especially with the rumours Foldable iPhone On the horizon. This does not mean the Razr He has To be strikingly elegant to stand out; Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold hasn’t been slimmed down in size but it packs a nice package IP68 rating Dust and water resistance – A A distinctive feature of a foldable phone.
Motorola says its foldable phone is ideal for multitasking. Hopefully, in this regard, it will borrow more from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which can run up to three apps on the home screen at the same time, instead of just two on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This could make it an attractive option for anyone who wants to use the Razr Fold as a phone and tablet hybrid, or even a mini PC of sorts. The phone will work with the Moto Pen Ultra stylus that Motorola announced alongside the Razr Fold phone.
The Razr’s large internal display — and even the large Cover Display, which is larger than the Z Fold 7 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold — will set it apart well from the clamshell-style Razr and Razr Ultra. The design of these foldable phones leans heavily into nostalgia, and the square-shaped cover displays are great for sending a quick text, glancing at notifications, and quickly switching between music controls. But the Razr Fold brings a whole new use case to the Motorola range, allowing people to watch videos in a larger format, read and annotate text more seamlessly and run multiple apps simultaneously. Hopefully the battery will be powerful enough to keep up with a full day of heavy use, as well as power those big screens.
The quality of the camera will also determine whether the Razr Fold is special or not. Both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Pixel 10 Pro Fold Solid camera packageWhich shows how far foldable phones have come in recent years. Hopefully, the Razr Fold will also take photos similar to those taken on a high-end non-foldable phone.
The biggest question also remains a mystery: How much does the Razr Fold cost? With competitors like the Pixel 10 Pro Fold starting at $1,799 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 starting at $2,000, Motorola’s book-style foldable phone likely won’t be cheap. Even the clamshell-style 2025 Razr Ultra starts at a whopping $1,300. Motorola hasn’t shared information about the Razr Fold’s processor, which will further determine which end of the price spectrum the phone will reach.
Fortunately, it looks like you have some time to save money before the Razr Fold launches later this year. Until then, we’ll have to wait and see what exactly the next generation of Motorola has in store.
