This lollipop plays tunes in your head using bone conduction. I tried it and I was floored

CES Full of unique concepts, but every now and then, I stumble upon something that just seems to exist. I (literally) tasted it with Popsicle star.

This candy also has a little trick up its sleeve: it can play music while it’s in your mouth using bone conduction. You can choose from three artists: Ice Spice, Akon, and Armani White. Every pop artist has their own flavor: Ice Spice is peach, Akon is blueberry, and Armani White is lemon. I went with Ice Spice.

Once I tore open the plastic packaging, I found a stick with the lollipop on one end and a bulge at the bottom with a power button on it. We needed to wear the earplugs they provided to hear the music, especially in a louder environment.

Popsicle star

There are three artists and flavours.

It’s called Hiti/CNET

Once unwrapped, move the lollipop to the back of your mouth and bite down on it with your molars. Suddenly, the tiny vibrations you often feel in the handle turn into music you can hear in your skull. It’s a very soft sound, and I had trouble forming words in the crowded CES halls, but it was an overwhelming feeling.

The company behind the musical candy, called Lava, says the songs were created specifically for the product. Bonus: The popsicles are delicious — at least the peach ones I have.

When I asked the team why they made Lollipop Star, the answer was simple: “Why not?”

And honestly I agree.

The Lollipop Star will launch after CES, and will cost $8.99 apiece. will be Available online And at select retailers.
