Acer is all about thinness, sturdiness and durability with its new Swift Edge technology

For office workers and entry-level gamers alike, the Acer brand is largely synonymous with budget laptops: Workhorse machines that aren’t too flashy. Acer Aspire and Swift offers in Consumer Electronics Show 2026 This trend largely continues, with updates to existing product lines, including new 14- and 16-inch Aspire AI models.

But Swift’s series appears to be ostensibly positioned as the biggest topic of interest this time around. The base 16-inch Swift model gets an AI-driven overhaul, while the Swift Go and Swift Edge receive upgrades to the 14- and 16-inch models focused on incorporating a stronger, thinner chassis into familiar designs.

Acer Swift Edge 14 AI and Acer Swift Edge 16 AI

The slim and sleek Swift Edge 14 AI and Swift Edge 16 AI look like the piece de resistance for Acer’s CES 2026 showcase. The latest upgrades to these lightweight laptops focus largely on improving the physical form, but the internals of these laptops have received a refresh as well.

These new models aren’t quite as slim as previous versions, but they are lightweight, weighing even less than their predecessors at 2.2 pounds. Acer has incorporated a stainless steel and magnesium alloy into the familiar chassis shape, ensuring that the Swift Edge 14 AI and Swift Edge 16 AI are built to last, too.

Both the new Swift Edge laptops come with an OLED display with a standard resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The 14- and 16-inch Swift Edges max out at 2,880 x 1,800 panels, but only the Swift Edge 16 AI model has a touchscreen.

Internally, the Swift Edge 14 AI and Swift Edge 16 AI are very similar. Both laptops can accommodate up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H CPU, Intel integrated graphics, up to 32GB of memory, and up to 1TB of storage.

Acer Swift 16 AI

Acer has unveiled a new base model for its mid-range laptop series, with the company showing off the Swift 16 AI at CES 2026. The Swift 16 AI is positioned as an affordable system for creatives who write, draw, animate and more – the model’s touchpad is the big focus here.

This touchpad is a haptic feedback panel that works with touch or stylus inputs. It takes up quite a bit of space in front of the keyboard, but if you want to pull out your pen without raising your hand, this will do the job. It’s covered with Corning Gorilla Glass, which means artists will be able to work with minimal worries about scratching part of their new computer.

The Swift 16 AI has been on the receiving end of some other design upgrades as well. The model relies on a 16-inch screen and weighs less than 3.5 pounds. The display has also received an update – the Swift 16 AI model from last year already featured an OLED display, but this time around users can expect a 2880 x 1800 pixel panel to offer a boost in resolution.

Internally, the Swift 16 AI has configurations that support up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 388H processor, Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics, up to 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage.

Acer Swift Go 14 AI and Acer Swift Go 16 AI

The Swift Go 14 AI and Swift Go 16 AI are the Swiss Army Knives from Acer’s Swift lineup. These laptops are still very portable, but they’re not as thin or sturdy as the Swift Edge series computers. What we lose in smoothness is made up for with slightly better processing power and a reasonable price.

The sleeker Swift Edge laptops certainly wouldn’t do poorly with Panther Lake-designed Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processors, but this update to the Swift Go line outfits those computers with Intel Core Ultra X9 388H CPUs. The 14- and 16-inch Swift Go models also feature integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of system storage.

Acer’s Swift Go series continues to have strong display specifications compared to other similarly priced laptops. Both the Swift Go 14 AI and Swift Go 16 AI feature OLED displays. 1920 x 1200-pixel panels are the standard resolution for these PCs, but you can choose to splurge a little more and get a 2880 x 1800-pixel screen instead. The Swift Go 14 AI and Swift Go 16 AI have touchscreen and non-touchscreen iterations.

Acer Aspire 14 AI and Acer Aspire 16 AI

During last year’s expo, Acer unveiled the sustainable Aspire Vero 16, showcasing a design composed mostly of recycled plastic. It was a really interesting addition to the budget Aspire lineup – but there’s nothing quite as exciting on offer this year. However, Acer debuted new versions of its 14- and 16-inch Aspire AI laptops at CES 2026.

Both new Aspire laptops retain the 1920 x 1200 pixel LCD panel designed by CNET’s Matt Elliot previously mentioned As one of the weakest aspects of model design. The upside is that the OLED panel upgrade is available for both Aspire laptops now, rather than being limited to the 14-inch model.

The Aspire 14 AI and Aspire 16 AI share most internal specs: both laptops can accommodate up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H CPU, have integrated Intel graphics, and up to 32GB of RAM. While the Aspire 14 AI has a maximum of 1TB of storage, although the Aspire 16 AI can have up to 2TB of storage.

All of these laptops are expected to ship this year, but Acer has not announced their pricing yet.
