TCL’s NxtPaper phone line has focused primarily on reading over the past few years, but its new phone debuted in Consumer Electronics Show 2026 He wants it to be more like a notebook.
The TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro, which the company announced on Monday, can pair with a pressure-sensitive T-Pen to add a writing experience that matches the paper-like reading modes that were available on previous NxtPaper devices.
The NxtPaper 70 Pro also debuts TCL’s MuseFilm technology for photos, which the company says can enhance photos captured by the 50MP main camera and the 32MP selfie camera. During a press conference, TCL said that MuseFilm should be able to provide bokeh effects for portrait-style photos as well as a more cinematic look to photos.
The phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and will be available with 256GB or 512GB storage, depending on the model. It will have a 5,200 mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and IP68 water and dust resistance.
Initially, the TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro will cost €339 (about $400) for the 256GB model, with availability starting in February. The T-Pen will be sold separately from the phone. It is planned that the device will eventually reach North America in addition to international markets.
