SwitchBot’s AI-powered desk light looks like a snow globe made of pixel art

The new RGB desk light from SwitchBot lets you place a mini version of the Las Vegas Sphere in your home. The AI-powered Obboto lamp announced at CES is described by SwitchBot as an “expressive globe light companion” that can display pre-made animations, user-uploaded images and GIFs as pixel art, giving you a fun, customizable desktop lighting experience.

The SwitchBot Obboto includes over 2,900 RGB LEDs and a motion sensor, which responds to your movement or touch. Features include music visualization, AI-driven “mood animations,” and dedicated modes for sleep, focus, relaxation, meditation and daily vibes, according to SwitchBot’s announcement.

It can also be used to display the local weather and time, which may appeal to fans of Amazon’s now-defunct service. Dot echo with the clock. SwitchBot hasn’t announced pricing or availability for the Obboto yet, so we’ll have to see if it can compete with the Dot with Clock in both wizards and Affordability.
