Fender’s first wireless headphones had a replaceable battery

Sound railingthe consumer electronics brand owned by the iconic guitar maker, announced its first pair of wireless headphones at CES 2026. What sets the Mix headphones apart from the competition is their amazing battery life, a modular design that allows the earpads and headband to be swapped out for alternate colors, and a focus on longevity with an easily accessible and swappable battery.

When they launch this year, the Mix headphones will initially be available in Olympic White and Skyscraper Black for $299.99. This is much cheaper than Sony’s flagship WH-1000XM6 headphones are $450 Which first appeared last May. We haven’t had a chance to test the Mix’s hybrid active noise cancellation to ascertain whether it compares to Sony’s flagship ANC in the WH-1000XM6, but the Fender Audio beats the Sony in terms of battery life. While Sony’s ANC headphones offer up to a maximum of 30 hours of playback with ANC on and up to 40 hours with it off, the Mix headphones offer up to 52 hours with ANC and up to 100 hours without it.

Underneath the Mix’s ear cup cushions are a pair of 40mm “high-efficiency graphene drivers” as well as a few other surprises. Removing the pad on one side reveals a removable pad for the Mix’s battery swap, while the other side hides a storage spot for a USB-C wireless transmitter. The Mix headphones can connect to audio sources using a USB-C cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3 with support for SBC and AAC codecs. Switching to the built-in transmitter allows lossless 96kHz/24-bit LHDC broadcast as well as LC3 and low-latency LC3 Auracast wireless modes.

You can also revert to using a 3.5mm audio cable when your Mix headphones’ battery runs out completely. But Fender Audio says a quick 15-minute charge will provide up to eight hours of playback, or nearly twice that if you keep the active noise cancellation (ANC) feature turned off.
