LG announces the world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop

LG is exciting 2026g pro laptops It will be fully revealed at CES, including what the company claims is the “world’s lightest 17-inch RTX laptop.” The LG Gram Pro 17 (17Z90UR) and Gram Pro 16 (16Z90U) will introduce a new ultra-light “Aerominum material” developed by LG that aims to reduce the weight of the laptop while enhancing strength and scratch resistance.

The LG Gram Pro 17 will have a 2560 x 1600 display, paired with Nvidia’s RTX 5050 laptop GPU that has just 8GB of VRAM. LG claims it will still provide “ample performance for graphics-intensive tasks, content creation and gaming.” However, you won’t be able to run most modern games at maximum settings in a playable state, so you shouldn’t consider the Gram Pro 17 as a gaming laptop. LG hasn’t revealed how much the Gram Pro 17 actually weighs, but suggests it will be a US exclusive at launch.

We also don’t know the weight of the Gram Pro 16 yet — which features a 2,880 x 1,800 OLED display and Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors — but LG similarly says this will be the “lightest 16-inch laptop in its class featuring both on-device and cloud-based AI.” Pricing and release dates for both laptops have yet to be announced, but it’s possible that LG will postpone that until the official CES launch next week.
