LG announces new UltraGear evo gaming monitors with AI technology


LG unveil A brand new line of gaming monitors ahead of CES on Friday. The UltraGear evo line are high-end displays covering a range of technologies, but united by 5K resolution and AI upscaling.

The three leading brands under the new brand are the 39GX950B, 27GM950B and 52G930B. The first number in the model name indicates the size. The rest of the letters and numbers, well, I’m sure they mean something to someone.

39 inches GX9 It is 21:9 ultra-wide 5K2K Dual mode OLED screen. It can run at full resolution at 165Hz, or jump to 330Hz for fast-twitching gaming at WFHD. The 27-inch GM9 uses “new” MiniLEDs, which promise brighter images than OLEDs, without the boom often associated with MiniLEDs. Finally, the 52-inch G9 is an absolutely massive curved display that delivers a 12:9 240Hz panoramic view with native 5K2K resolution.

The GM9 model is particularly interesting considering that LG makes panels for Apple devices Pro Display XDRand word is that the monitor finally got a Long awaited update in the near future.

All three displays will be shown off at CES next month, but there’s no word on pricing or availability yet.
