Christmas falls on a Thursday this year, giving football fans the gift of three AFL matches. As with last year, two games will be broadcast on Netflix, with the third game broadcast on Prime Video as part of Amazon’s regular Thursday Night Football schedule.
Holiday soccer action begins at 1pm ET (10am PT) on Netflix With Washington’s leaders taking on their NFC East rivals in the Dallas Cowboys. Both the Leaders (4-11) and Cowboys (6-8) have been eliminated from playoff contention, so they’ll be playing for pride (and rewards based on individual player performance).
Next up, it’s an NFC North showdown between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings 4:30 PM ET (1:30 PM PT) on Netflix. The Vikings (7-8) are already looking ahead to next year, but the Lions (8-7) still have a slim chance of passing the Packers and clinching the last playoff spot in the NFC if they win. At the end of the first half, Snoop Dogg will perform.
In the Christmas Night Cup, the Denver Broncos take on the Kansas City Chiefs starting at 8:15 PM ET (5:15 PM PT) on Prime Video. For the first time in a decade, the Chiefs (6-9) will miss the playoffs. They will try to play spoiler against their AFC West rivals, who are tied with the Patriots at 12-3 for the best record in the conference and playing for the top seed in the AFC and a first-round bye.
