Semi-rigid MagSafe power banks arrive from Founder Hyper

BMX, which stands for Better Mobile Xperience, is led by Daniel Chen, the man who founded Sanho, the company behind those super-branded batteries and accessories that longtime Apple users have come to love. Targus acquired Sanho in 2021-Free up your chin for new adventures.

BMX and Kuxiu insist on calling their batteries “solid-state,” but they’re not—instead they use a mixed solid-liquid electrolyte. However, they still have advantages over traditional batteries and can be mass-produced using existing manufacturing processes to help reduce costs. Power banks cost about twice as much to buy but last more than twice as long, so you’ll likely come out ahead in the end, and without any burns or property damage.

Now see how conventional lithium-ion batteries use entirely liquid electrolytes Compare:

The 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh SolidSafe kits are available with prices starting at $79. There’s also a 10,000 mAh model with a microSD slot (max. 512GB) for $129. Unfortunately, they’re all stuck with the older Qi2 MagSafe-compatible 15W wireless charging, rather than the newer Qi2.2 that can handle 25W. Other than that, you get a 30W USB-C input/output and a USB-C cable built into the lanyard, which is handy.

Now they appear sold out on BMX websitebut it should appear on Amazon in the US in January.
