Adobe is giving ChatGPT users some new capabilities to design and edit their work without having to switch applications. New applications for Photoshop, Acrobat, and Adobe Express are launching today directly in ChatGPT, allowing users to create designs or adjust images and PDFs by describing what they want.
Adobe apps are free to use, and can be activated by typing the app name along with the uploaded file and chat instructions, such as “Adobe Photoshop, help me darken the background of this image.” ChatGPT users will not have to select the application name again during the same conversation to make additional changes. Depending on the instructions, Adobe applications may offer a selection of results to choose from, or provide a widget that the user can manually control—such as Photoshop sliders for adjusting contrast and brightness.
ChatGPT applications do not provide the full functionality of Adobe desktop. Adobe says the Photoshop app can edit specific sections of images, apply creative effects, and adjust image settings like brightness, contrast, and exposure. Acrobat in ChatGPT can edit existing PDF files, compress and convert other documents to PDF format, extract text or tables, and merge multiple files together.
Adobe Express allows ChatGPT users to create and edit designs, such as posters, invitations, and social media graphics. Everything in the design can be edited without leaving ChatGPT, from replacing text or images to changing colors and moving specific sections. If users of ChatGPT He does They want more granular control over the project they started in their chatbot, and can open those images, PDFs, and designs directly in native Adobe applications to pick up where they left off.
Adobe ChatGPT apps are available globally across desktop, web, and iOS. Adobe Express ChatGPT can also be used on Android devices, with Android support for Photoshop and Acrobat “coming soon,” according to Adobe.
Bringing Adobe Creative Cloud apps directly to ChatGPT could help both services fend off competition from Google Gemini AI, which has introduced its own app Photo editing capabilities in May. This is also the latest step in Adobe’s rollout plan Agent AI solutions Which allows its creative applications to be used more in conversation, removing some of the skill barriers required for image editing and design.
