The best karaoke speakers from small and portable to huge

Great accessories

The karaoke accessories you need depend on the type of system you purchase. For example, if you’re buying a portable Bluetooth speaker that can be used as a karaoke machine with traditional microphone inputs, the first thing you’ll need is a good microphone like Shore SM58 And a cable (or two). If your device only offers quarter-inch inputs, you’ll need to add a XLR to quarter inch cable or XLR to quarter inch adapter.

That’s a great start, but even if your device has built-in wireless microphones, there are some good accessories worth considering to take the experience up a notch or two.

Microphone, stand, cable (and adapter)

the Shure SM58 ($109) It’s the most popular stage microphone on the planet for a reason: it’s bulletproof and it sounds great. If you need a microphone, we highly recommend you choose SM58; They’re probably what you used at your local restaurant.

Our favorite microphone stands are from the German brand K&M ($83)but you can completely stay away from Amazon Basics Microphone Stand ($23) at home. I love colorful Microphone cables like these ($12). If you need one, snag a Quarter-inch to XLR adapter ($10 for two) So your microphone can be connected to every karaoke machine you find.

Sound effects box

If you want to play around with the way the vocals actually sound, or quickly create cool synth lines yourself, we highly recommend using New Antares Headrush VX5 pedal ($299). This thing can get you perfectly in tune, but it can also do things like stack layers of your voice on top of or below each other. You can also string up an instrument, play tunes, and have it match the key of your axe.

Portable projector

If you don’t use a TV in your living room, it’s a good idea to get an inexpensive but high-quality portable projector. We love the latest Anker mini model ($530)because it’s relatively affordable and includes a convenient pair of speakers for when you’re watching movies outside and don’t want to connect a PA.

Streaming stick for streaming on your TV

If you don’t already have a way to cast content from your phone to your TV or projector, we highly recommend any of these methods The latest 4K streaming devices. They all have a way to share things from phones to screens, and you can download YouTube or other karaoke apps.

Cool lights

Atmosphere is an essential part of a good karaoke party. We really like this light from Soundbox ($299)who also make speakers at large parties. It can sync to your music and is USB-C rechargeable for off-the-grid vibes.
