The Antigravity 360 Degree Drone is here to help you forget DJI

Fortunately, it’s not just a DJI alternative: This $1,599 drone and headset combo is unlike anything you’ve tried before.

As I explained in August As you can see in the embedded video, this 8K drone isn’t about “flying a drone” or “shooting aerial footage.” It’s designed to keep you from having to think about flying or shooting at all.

The 360-degree camera and motion sensing glasses allow you to simply turn your head to look in any direction. Inside, you’ll see a line that you can move with your arm that indicates where you want to go. Press the trigger, and the drone will fly up there, while your head stays free to enjoy the views from above. Because you’re recording video in every direction at once, you can rotate and zoom the recorded video when you’re done.

Priced at $1,599$1,899 if You want three batteries, a multi-charger, and a carrying case, Or $1,999 For three “high capacity” batteries according to the Best Buy listing – this drone is more expensive than camera drones that will produce traditional high-quality rectangular footage.

In an early demo, the Antigravity A1 weighs, flies and folds like a DJI Mini, not a high-end Mavic or Air, though its price is closer to that of those high-end drones when they were widely available in the US.

But none of the DJI drones come equipped with a 360-degree camera system and goggles that make flying and filming easy as a priority. (Anti-gravity glasses are more impressive, too.) But this can happen with DJI’s 360-degree drone, the Avata 360, which It just received FCC approval last week. Maybe it will arrive in the US before the door closes on future DJI gear.

The Avata 360 may be a different beast than the Antigravity A1. While the A1 is a small, beginner-friendly drone that flies gently, and is light enough not to need registration, DJI’s Avata line were heavier cinewhoop-style FPV drones designed for Pounce and rise at high speed.
