The Raspberry Pi company is increasing the prices of several single-board computers in an attempt to offset higher memory costs. The updates are effective immediately and affect the Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi 5, with prices increasing by $5 to $25 depending on model and RAM size. The 16GB memory variants of the Compute 5 are also being raised by $20, starting at $140 now.
“The current pressure on memory prices, driven by competition from AI infrastructure deployment, is painful but ultimately temporary,” Raspberry Pi CEO. Upton’s son said in the ad. “We are committed to reducing the cost of computing and look forward to resolving these price increases once they subside.”
A new, affordable 1GB version of the flagship Raspberry Pi 5 model is also being offered for $45, which includes a 2.4GHz quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a PCI Express port.
