Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro review: Almost the perfect gaming mouse

The internal assembly of this mouse is shockingly complex compared to other Razer models. Instead of a single printed circuit board (PCB) that houses the sensor, buttons and everything else, the DeathAdder V4 Pro opts for three. One is located on the bottom of the mouse, with the sensor, battery, and individual small switch for the mouse button. The second PCB is in the top housing, mounted by a bracket, with a scroll wheel and two main microswitches for left and right clicks. A third PCB, mounted to the same bracket, is positioned sideways with two small side-button switches.

Removing the strut is fairly simple, but involves bending the frame or strut (both made of very thin, lightweight plastic) to separate them. It’s not very difficult, but it can cause problems if done incorrectly. The main advantage of this design is that there is less space between the mouse buttons and small keys. To save money or reduce the number of parts, many mice will instead put all the internal parts on a single PCB and use small hinged connectors to connect the buttons and switches. While this can lead to a simpler design, it creates more points of failure and can negatively impact the feel of pressing the button.

Although there is a slight risk of failed connections between PCBs, it is unlikely. All three components are fixed inside the mouse case, and the two halves are connected by a ribbon cable that does not experience any pressure during use. Although repairability and disassembly won’t be easy on a complex mouse like this, it’s unlikely that any of the internal parts will experience random or premature failure. All of the sensors are rated for massive amounts of operation by Razer, and none of them are wired in overly complicated ways. The battery looks standard and can be easily detached without any soldering. It attaches to the bottom of the mouse using adhesive, and although this adhesive won’t hold up to removal, it’s very easy to stick a new battery onto the casing.

The DeathAdder V4 Pro is a great example of everything coming together on a mouse. It has great specs on paper and a solid build to back it up. Furthermore, Razer Synapse allows nearly every aspect of mouse performance to be customized to the user’s specific preferences – a way to bridge the ultimate gap between device performance and user expectations. It’s a great mouse not only for competitive gamers, but also for anyone who wants to customize their mouse to their specific needs. And in a very adjustable age Hall effect keyboardsGetting a mouse with equal levels of adjustment seems like the natural next step.
