I like a Digital notebook. I write about them all year long here at WIRED, and more often than not my favorites don’t go on sale. (Or to go on sale, alongside Amazon’s own sale events.) But this year, multiple Digital notebooks I love is on sale at the biggest sale event of the year.
If you’ve ever thought about getting one of these for yourself, there’s really no better moment. From reMarkable bundles on sale to Kobo deals, you can shop five of the best digital laptops we’ve ever tried for less than you’ll find even next year. It’s an easy-to-use tool that everyone can enjoy, whether you want to annotate your books digitally or write out your grocery list without using a piece of paper.

Update December 1: We’ve updated prices, links, and deals and added the Rocketbook Fusion Plus notebook.
Some of the best digital notebooks we’ve tried come from reMarkable, and one of the reMarkable models always seems to top our digital notebook guide. While the Paper Pro Move is the latest model, the… Remarkable Paper Pro The one that launched in September 2024 is my current favorite. It’s not only powerful with lots of tools and an easy interface, but it has a color display for colorful notes. It also has a nice front light so you can use it in dark environments. The bundles are on sale right now, so combine one of the reMarkable markers and binders with Paper Pro for $50 off.
reMarkable’s best discount is actually for its older device and ours Previous top pickreMarkable 2. It doesn’t have a color screen or front light, but you do get the great reMarkable software and accessory options like the Keyboard Folio to use it like a laptop. reMarkable 2 packs are also on sale, so add your favorite paper on the reMarkable website to get $70 off.
The color of Libra’s kobo is My favorite all-in-one e-reader With its color screen and page-turn buttons, but you can add a pen to make it more of a digital notebook. It’s one of the more affordable options, and it’s a smaller screen than the rest of these options, but I especially like that you can use the pen to draw on the books you’re reading (something you can’t do with Kindle Scribe). It’s $30 off on Kobo’s website for Cyber Monday.
the Second generation Kindle Writer It’s not the best digital laptop, but the long battery life (12 weeks!!) and convenient starting point of being a Kindle that I can actually read on makes it a great choice for note-takers and doodlers. It’s a good option for Kindle and Amazon users, and there are new models due out this winter, but they probably won’t be as cheap as this one. (Especially since some of these new models will have colors!)
If you like the idea of having a Kobo e-reader that can also be used as a digital notebook, you can get a bigger classic with the larger Elipsa 2E. This device comes with a stylus, so you won’t have to add one, and it’s $50 off.
The Rocketbook Fusion Plus Digital Planner and Notepad is for those who don’t want to charge their notebooks or give up the whole “paper” experience. Take notes with the included erasable Pilot Frixion pen, scan page images into the app, then wipe everything down with a damp microfiber cloth (also included). Fusion Plus has the most discount in recent memory, and comes with templates ranging from monthly and weekly pages to project management and meeting notes.
