Anthropic’s latest version of its most powerful generative AI model could turn the way you manage your spreadsheets upside down. The company said Claude Opus 4.5, announced Monday, is aimed at things you do at work, like programming and office work.
Google revealed its powerful new device Gemini 3 Last week’s model, OpenAI was released GPT-5.1 The previous week. Now it’s Anthropy’s turn. Popular with businesses and software professionals, the company said Opus 4.5 focuses on getting work done, not creating content.
Claude Opus 4.5 will be available everywhere and will be the default model for Pro (starting at $17 per month), Max (starting at $100 per month) and Enterprise users.
Opus 4.5 is designed to produce documents, spreadsheets, and presentations and can automate menial office tasks using your computer and browser. This includes publishing it in Claude for chromea browser extension that allows Claude to perform Internet tasks for Max users.
This release puts all three Cloud models in generation 4.5. Anthropic released Sonnet 4.5the mid-level model, in September and Haiku 4.5its smallest model, in October.

advanced Logic Models like Opus are designed to handle complex and demanding tasks. While a smaller, cheaper large language model will provide an answer based on the probabilities in its training data, an inference model will rerun and optimize its processes to get a better or more complete answer. This takes longer, but means the AI can handle more difficult operations.
Inference models are especially useful for complex programming projects or extensive research. The downside is that they are slower and more expensive to run, which is why companies often restrict them to paid plans or place strict limits on usage.
