Netflix signs a three-year deal to stream live MLB events and games

Netflix One game will be broadcast on opening night of each seasonand a Home Run Derby and one “special event game” each year. In 2026, this will cover the broadcast of the “Field of Dreams” game from Dyersville, Iowa, on August 13, 2026, between the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies.

The games the three networks subscribe to cover a media deal MLB previously had with ESPN alone, and on NBC’s end, gives it Sunday Night Baseball, as well as draft coverage and other games for its networks. According to the league, “certain Sunday night games will be broadcast on Peacock and simulcast on NBCSN within weeks, where there is overlap with media rights deals previously negotiated on NBC,” while Peacock will also carry MLB’s Sunday Leadoff games that begin at noon and simulcast on the newly relaunched NBC Sports Network.

For ESPN, it has a broadcast package of 30 games per season that will be exclusive to its channels and the ESPN app, 150 out-of-market games (one per day) in the ESPN app, and the ability to sell MLB Network and some in-market games via the ESPN app.
