Opening the mouse requires just four screws: two covered by one of the mouse’s sticky feet, and two under the removable disc. With spare parts and some welding skills, the repair should be straightforward. The battery is attached to a removable section on the top shell of the mouse using a rubber adhesive. This adhesive pad expands and sticks to itself when removed, making it nearly impossible to reuse with a new battery, but it leaves no residue on the actual plastic of the mouse. The new battery should be easy to install using double-sided tape.
The Cobra HyperSpeed’s minimalist interior contains nothing superfluous, and no additional points of confusion or failure. Overall, this mouse is a solid workhorse for gaming and general browsing. It is fast, convenient and compact. The simple, sturdy design will withstand normal daily use. Although it doesn’t push the limits of performance or functionality like some of the more expensive esports-focused mice available today, the Cobra HyperSpeed is a great option for someone who doesn’t need high-end specs but wants a mouse that gets the job done.
