The CNN app adds a “Shorts” feed for small-sized videos

CNN is revamping its app homepage with a dedicated feed of short videos. The new “Shorts” tab houses a collection of clips containing stories from CNN, allowing you to scroll through them as you would TikTok or Instagram Reels.

The CNN app already has a section for short videos in the Watch tab, but the network is now putting the clips front and center on the home page. In addition to displaying all recently published vertical videos, the new Shorts feed will also include clips created specifically for streaming.

You won’t have to watch short news videos every time you open the CNN app, as the network is introducing a new tab titled “Top News” that you’ll go to by default, showing a mix of text and video stories. You can switch between the two sections by clicking on the tabs at the top of the screen. Short videos will be available to watch for free.
