If you’ve watched the new Apple TV show “Pluribus” until the end, you’ve probably seen it I noticed an unusual discharge In the credits: “This show is made by humans.”
This brief message — placed directly below a note that “animal caretakers were on set to ensure the safety of the animals” — could provide a model for other filmmakers seeking to highlight that their work was produced without the use of generative AI.
And in case the disclaimer wasn’t clear enough, creator Vince Gilligan (known as “Better Call Saul”) was even more emphatic in Various feature stories about the show“I hate AI,” he declared emphatically.
He went on to describe the technology as “the world’s most expensive and energy-intensive plagiarism machine,” and compared AI-generated content to “a cow chewing its cud — an endless regurgitated loop of nonsense.”
“Thank you, Silicon Valley!” He added while laughing. “Once again, you have ruined the world.”
“Pluribus” marks the former “X-Files” writer’s return to sci-fi, reuniting him with his “Better Call Saul” co-star Rhea Seehorn, who plays a romance author facing an alien invasion.
