Apple desperately needs to copy 3 features of the Oppo Find X9 Pro to the iPhone 18

the Oppo Find X9 Pro It’s one of the most well-rounded phones of the year. It offers a versatile camera system, solid performance, a great display, and excellent battery life. All this, packed into an ergonomic design. In his review for CNET, Andrew Lanxon said: “Oppo’s Find X9 Pro may be one of the Best Android phones “I’ve experienced the year 2025, and I’ve experienced a lot.”

Although it may not be available for purchase in the US, Oppo is competing with Apple with features that aren’t even available in the newer version. iPhone 17 Pro. This puts the Cupertino, California-based phone maker in a difficult position. Apple needs to continue innovating and adding new features to iPhonewhile keeping pace with what its competitors, such as Oppo, are doing.

I’ve been using the Find X9 Pro for a week, and there are three features I want Apple to steal from Opp for the iPhone 18.

1. Improve your iPhone photography

Apple’s iPhone Pro models are the perfect choice for mobile videographers on the move. After all, the iPhone 17 Pro offers action-camera-like stability and post-editing versatility for video recordings – even at 8x zoom. However, it lags behind Chinese rivals, such as Xiaomi and Oppo, in terms of image quality, low-light photos, and long-zoom shots.

The Find X9 Pro has a 200MP telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom lens, delivering images with sharp details. By contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro offers a 4x 48MP telephoto camera with 8x ‘optical zoom’, which, in my testing, produces noisy results compared to the Oppo phone, especially in low-light conditions.

I enjoyed shooting 10x shots with the Find X9 Pro, but I won’t go beyond 4x on my iPhone for still images due to the aforementioned image noise. Oppo has better-looking digital image processing, and this extends to portrait mode, low-light scenarios, and macro shots.

The Oppo phone tends to be better at detecting edges around subjects and adding a bokeh effect in portrait mode. Neon lights appear more vibrant in low-light photos, and there is less noise in dark environments. Macro shots, even at 6x zoom, have excellent detail, and as a result, you don’t need to get very close to your subject to get good-looking macro images, like the sample above. In all of these scenarios, you can get better-looking photos than you get with the iPhone with just one click. I wish Apple offered this camera processing in portrait, macro, and low-light modes.

2. Add more battery capacity

The Oppo Find in CNET Lab TestsThe 17 Pro Max performed at the top of all our tests when it debuted in September. It’s worth noting that because Apple controls the design of the hardware, software, and processors, the company is able to achieve greater energy efficiency than Android phone makers.

I am a person who constantly uses his phone for more than 8 hours a day. Although the Find X9 Pro doesn’t offer twice the battery life of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, I couldn’t put it down in a day. If you’re a moderate phone user, you can expect it to last up to two days on a single charge.

In fact, the Find As Andrew Lankson, senior photographer and editor at large at CNET, wrote in his book Find our X9 Pro review“After 3 hours of streaming video on YouTube, the phone’s performance dropped from 100% to just 92%. The iPhone 17 Pro dropped to 85% after the same period, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL dropped to 76%.” Even if the battery power is low, you can quickly charge it with 80W compared to the iPhone 17 Pro’s 40W fast charging.

Part of the reason for Oppo’s excellent battery life is its massive capacity. The Find I want Apple to borrow this silicon-carbon battery technology for the next iPhone, so I can go out without carrying my power bank on long days. It will be a godsend for travel. Can you imagine what kind of battery life the iPhone Pro Max will get with a 7500 mAh battery?

3. More various add-ons for iPhone

There are a few other things I like about my Find X9 Pro that I wish were on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. These are:

• Multi-function action button: Apple has stuck with the double-tap action button shortcut, which feels restrictive. I want to be able to use my shortcut and also silence my phone using this button. Oppo lets you add two functions to its AI Plus key by long pressing to record voice notes and pressing once to save a screenshot to Mind Space. I don’t want the mental space on my iPhone, but it would be nice if I could similarly assign two shortcuts to one button.

• Expandable folders on the home screen: I loved this ability on Honor’s MagicOS, and I also loved it on Oppo’s ColorOS. My home screen setup includes a folder containing five apps, expanded to provide one-click access to three of them. It makes my home screen look organized with grouped apps, yet maintains instant access to a single app.

• Upgrade the quality in live images: I turned on Live Photos because it provides a behind-the-scenes look at the raw emotions captured in my photos. It’s also great for Reels and TikToks, where you can turn them into mini clips to add to your short videos. But I wish Apple would give these small converted clips the same quality as their videos. Currently, it appears to be a lower resolution and lower frame rate. However, on the Find X9 Pro, you can turn Live Photos into 4K videos, which is ideal for creating short-form content.

The iPhone 17 Pro is a great device for consumers, but I’m sure most consumers would love to have these Find X9 Pro features on their Apple devices. From better-looking photos to iOS improvements, my wish list for the next iPhone is ready. I hope Apple delivers.
