Like a desperate quarterback, millions of college football fans could scramble. Disney pulled ESPN and ABC from YouTube TV on Friday after the two sides failed to meet a midnight deadline to reach an agreement on content distribution.
Unless something changes, millions of fans will not be able to watch the college football games that ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will broadcast on Friday and Saturday. This includes No. 5 Georgia vs. Florida — also known as the “World’s Biggest Outdoor Cocktail Party” — No. 9 Vanderbilt vs. No. 20 Texas, No. 7 Ole Miss vs. South Carolina and several other games.

ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC — all Disney properties — broadcast the most college football games ever. Their schedule is listed here. ESPN and ABC Air NFL games on Monday nights and also broadcast NBA games.
A Disney representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Disney says YouTube TV doesn’t pay enough to stream its channels. YouTube TV is owned by Google Most subscribers Among all other Internet TV providers, more than 9 million. Disney and Google needed to reach an updated contractual agreement by 11:59 PM ET on Thursday, October 30, which did not happen.

“Google’s YouTube TV has chosen to deprive its subscribers of the content they value most by refusing to pay fair prices for our channels, including ESPN and ABC.” Disney said in a statement to CNBC.
In a memo to staff on Friday that was Reported by CNBCDisney accused YouTube TV of deleting “pre-recorded shows and events from its subscribers’ libraries.”
“YouTube TV and its owner Google are not interested in reaching a fair deal with us,” Disney Entertainment co-presidents Dana Walden and Alan Bergman and ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro said in the memo. “Instead, they want to use their extraordinary power and resources to eliminate competition and devalue the content that helped them build their service.”
