Tesla and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Cybertruck owners warning An off-road accessory may pose a hazard on the road.

A recall has been issued due to an off-road light bar attachment that can come loose and fall off trucks. NHTSA says this could affect 6,197 vehicles, about 10 percent of all e-trucks sold.

“The detached light bar may fall, posing a road hazard to other vehicles and increasing the risk of an accident.” The notice says.

Memorization is Newer than 10 that have been released for Tesla’s Cybertruck since its debut in late 2023.

A Tesla representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Tesla will inspect the accessory and “install an additional mechanical accessory or replace the light bar using tape to attach the light bar to the windshield plus an additional mechanical accessory as necessary, free of charge,” NHTSA said.

Owners should receive notice in the mail about the recall sometime after December 26.
