The exercise company has teamed up with Jason Universe and Horror, Inc., the original owners of the Friday the 13th film franchise, to put together three categories inspired by the notorious killer. The trainers, dressed like camp counselors, conduct themed exercises based on trying to survive Jason’s rampage.

The first class, a 30-minute drive with instructor Camila Ramon, goes from the Peloton studio to Camp Crystal Lake. As the cyclists approach their final destination, it becomes clear that they are cycling for their lives.

The second semester is a 30-minute training camp with trainer Rebecca Kennedy, and focuses on improving muscle strength. Kennedy starts with a normal routine before moving on to training on how to escape the scary camp.

The session concludes with a 10-minute meditation with coach Dennis Morton focusing on breathing techniques that help “confront your demons and find calm in scary times.”

Immersive storytelling meets exercise

The new series of exercises is a clever bit of storytelling that blurs the line between reality and fiction. This Jason-themed novel sounds like Peloton’s attempt at trying Alternate reality game.

“We are so excited to bring this traumatic series to our members, opening up a new way for our community to experience a physical journey like never before.” Ramon said. “Reimagining the Jason Universe and Camp Crystal Lake on our platform allows us to explore a new kind of immersive storytelling.”

If you want to survive Jason’s latest killing spree, you’re going to have to train hard. While the killer usually moves forward at a slow pace, he always seems to appear only when someone feels too comfortable. The original Friday the 13th movie was released 45 years ago, so Jason has decades of slasher experience under his molded belt.

All three of Peloton’s new Jason-themed classes are available to members now. A limited edition commemorative T-shirt featuring Jason Voorhees is also available Peloton clothing website. The scariest thing is its price – $49.
