Apple is facing a class-action lawsuit over the audio features of its Beats headphones


Apple’s popular Beats line of wireless headphones is the subject of Class action Claiming that the devices do not work as advertised for voice calls. The lawsuit, filed in August in California, says headphones under Apple’s Beats umbrella, including Beats Fit Pro, Beats Solo Pro and Beats, suffer from poor audio quality when used for video conferencing apps like Teams or Zoom.

An Apple representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit, Kimberly Feeney, purchased a set of Beats headphones in 2024. She said that people she communicated with while using the headphones in Teams and Zoom were unable to hear her during calls. Its problems persisted despite numerous visits to the Apple Genius Bar.

The class action includes customers who purchased Beats Fit Pro, Beats Solo Pro, or other Beats headphones after July 9, 2021.
