Nike unveils a robotic shoe system for everyone

Nike has unveiled a new innovation called Project Amplify, a robotics-powered shoe system for running and walking. It sounds great, but it may take a while before you can try it for yourself.

The system consists of a motor, drive belt and rechargeable battery built into the carbon fiber-coated running shoe. According to Nike, Project amplification Designed to increase natural movement of the lower leg and ankle.

Nike said it is developing Project Amplify to make walking, jogging and slow running easier and more enjoyable, comparing the system to an electric bike. Rather than competitive runners, Project Amplify targets athletes who log 10- to 12-minute miles.

Nike created the Amplify project alongside robotics partner Dephy. The system is still in the testing phase, but Nike plans to release the shoe system to consumers on a large scale “in the coming years.”

This year, the footwear company also released a pair of warm-up and cool-down shoes, the Hyperboots, which feature heating and air pressure massage technology inside them. the Hyperbots Sold for $900.
