OpenAI started teasing a live stream today that will likely be related to the rumored web browser. Mysterious teasers containing a bunch of browser tabs have appeared on OpenAI X account today, suggesting the live stream will reveal all at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT today.
Reuters I reported in July that OpenAI was preparing for this Launch the AI web browserwith the company’s AI operator agent built into the browser. This feature will allow the operator to book restaurant reservations, automatically fill out forms, and complete other browser actions.
OpenAI’s web browser is also expected to include a ChatGPT interface to allow people to interact directly with the chatbot through the browser instead of having to open a ChatGPT website. The browser will also likely run on Chromium, the same engine that powers Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Opera.
The AI browser wars are heating up.
