Tapo’s new solar light camera absorbs the sun’s rays to illuminate your garden


Smart home brand Tapo from TP-Link has announced a new solar-powered outdoor security camera with pan-tilt capabilities, 2K video recording, and an 800-lumen LED floodlight. Taboo says the C615F can operate for up to 24 hours with just 45 minutes of sunlight, and is now available through Taboo online store and Amazon For $89.99 for a limited time, or $99.99 regularly.

In terms of battery life alone, Tapo says the C615F can run for up to 140 days, but that will vary based on how often you use the camera, floodlight, and functions like performing scheduled inspections of your yard. Recordings can be stored locally on a microSD card up to 512GB, or online by subscribing to Taboo Care cloud servicewhich starts at $3.49 per month or $34.99 per year.

The C615F floodlight’s angle and brightness can be adjusted during installation to illuminate specific areas, and can be operated manually or set to turn on automatically when triggered by motion. The camera offers more flexibility, rotating 360 degrees and tilting up to 130 degrees on its own, and is able to identify and track people, vehicles and pets as part of its standard functionality without an additional subscription fee.

Other features include a microphone and speaker for two-way communications, color night vision with infrared LEDs for improved video quality in low-light areas where the floodlight won’t shine, and an IP65 dust and waterproof rating so you don’t have to worry about rain or snow.
