Spitting, swearing, and not being deterred: what it’s like to own a Cybertruck

Then I got my wife a Model S for Christmas. I started driving around, and I kind of like it. I placed an order again for the Cybertruck and the excitement started building from there.

How do you feel about it now?

Oh, I like that. Now, everything else, for me – and I don’t talk lightly about anyone else’s stuff, I still like a lot of the other vehicles out there – but everything else, for me, those smooth lines and everything, everything blends together. The Cybertruck clearly stands out. I mean we take the trailer out a lot, and I can go to camp and there’s 50 kids coming out: “Cybertruck, Cybertruck, Cybertruck.” I carry little toys inside the box so I can pass them out and give them to the kids, and they love it. It’s very fun.

Anything you don’t like about it?

I can’t really see the front of the windshield because it’s so long.

What does the Cybertruck community look like?

When I owned two Bentleys and met other people who owned Bentleys or Rolls Royces, it was exclusive. They were a bit reserved about other people with other vehicles. I’ve learned that with Cybertruck owners, it’s like, “Hey, want to see it? Come on. Want to test drive? Come on.” They are more comprehensive.

What’s the biggest reaction you’ve gotten from someone while driving it?

A couple of months ago, I think it was in Idaho, my son and I stopped at this place where they had a pack of bears. It was almost infested with bears, which was kind of gross. This guy literally drove through the grass, through bears, cut off other cars and was right behind me following me. And I’m like, dude, who’s that?
