Mint Mobile’s prepaid home internet plan is very cheap under very specific circumstances

Mint Mobile is trying something less “mobile” with its new prepaid 5G home internet plan This applies to less than $30 per month. To get this price, you’ll also need a Mint phone plan and pay for at least three months up front. But it’s still one of the cheapest 5G plans at home even if you can’t get the lowest price.

5G Home Minternet (yes, that’s what they call it) offers the same speeds — typically between 133-415 Mbps — and unlimited data as T-Mobile’s 5G Home Internet, which is unsurprising when we see how it works on the same network. The difference is that throttling during periods of network congestion starts after 1TB of data on Mint, but after 1.2TB on T-Mobile. You will also miss out on some perks such as Advanced security features or Aggregated streaming services Included in more expensive T-Mobile plans, but that’s about it.

Unfortunately, the pricing structure is kind of a mess. If you have a Mint phone plan and pay for three months of service, it will cost you $30 per month. But this price is only for new customers, and renewing for three more will cost you $40 per month. If you choose a six-month plan, it will cost you $35 per month. You’ll have to pay 12 months upfront to maintain the $30 per month price.

The service costs an additional $10 per month if you skip the phone plan and just get home internet. Which means that that 5G home internet that’s supposed to be $30 a month could end up costing you $50 a month depending on how you subscribe. However, with no contracts and no need for a technician to be present to drill holes in your walls, it may just be the case Decent optionDepending on where you live.
