Apple only Announce a new model One of the best and latest tablets is the iPad Pro. The new device comes with some internal upgrades M4 powered modelmost notably the all-new M5 chip. Apple says the chip delivers “up to 3.5x AI performance” compared to last year’s Pro, whatever that means, along with significant improvements in various video tasks.
Apple seems to be positioning the device as an upgrade for people who bought it M1-powered pros Or older models, rather than something M4 owners should be jealous of. But the new device actually has a host of internal upgrades beyond just a new processor. The Pro now also comes with Apple’s new C1X cellular modem (if you get the cellular version), and the N1 chip for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread. (string!) Apple has increased memory read and write speeds as well, and the Pro supports fast charging up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes.
The 11-inch model starts at $999, and the 13-inch model starts at $1,299. They come in two colors, black and silver. Both are available for pre-order now, and will ship and in stores on October 22.
The last time Apple upgraded the iPad Pro was In May 2024This device was a big change from what came before. This Pro comes with a new, slimmer design, an upgraded OLED display, new accessories, and a much-improved camera setup. It was also the first device to run on an M4 processor; Apple has clearly made a habit of launching new chipsets and new tablets together. The M4 Pro has been the best tablet on the market ever since. It’s a very expensive device, you can spend $2000 on this device without breaking a sweat, but it’s a great device.
Adding more power to the iPad Pro makes sense, as Apple continues to transform the device into something that more closely resembles a laptop. With iPadOS 26, you can now do just that Multitasking almost freely On the iPad, and paired with the (also very good) Magic Keyboard accessory, it can do a lot of MacBook stuff. We’ve said for years that high-end iPads have been held back by hand-holding software, but it seems the platform is opening up more and more. And with Apple’s core models and other AI features starting to make their way around the platform, it may actually be able to push the M5 to its limits.
