With RGB lighting, exposed electronics, and a full-color display inside a transparent enclosure, Edifier’s latest desktop accessory could easily be mistaken for a gaming PC. In fact, it’s primarily a speaker that can connect to sources via Bluetooth, a USB cable, or an analog audio cable. As spotted Examine the notebook. the Huazai new cyber speaker It is currently available in China for 1,499 yuan, or about $210 USD, in Aurora White and Phantom Black color options. It’s not clear if the company is planning a wider global release.
The Cyber speaker pairs a 4-inch woofer with three passive radiators to boost low frequencies and two 52mm midrange drivers. It’s all hidden in the bottom half of the headset behind a fabric screen, while the top features electronics like the speakers, power supply, braided speaker cables, and signal processor that are arranged and mounted to look like components you’d find inside a gaming PC like the graphics card and memory slots.
There are five circular RGB lighting elements with animated effects that make them appear to rotate, mimicking the look of cooling fans, while the 2.8-inch display can be used as a decorative element that displays photos, screensavers or personalized messages. But it has some practical uses too, such as displaying performance metrics like CPU, RAM and GPU usage while the speaker is connected to an actual computer using a USB cable, or song lyrics while streaming music from a smartphone.
The Cyber’s footprint is comparable to bookshelf speakers that are often used as part of desktop PC setups. But to extend its usefulness while taking up a significant portion of your desktop space, the Edifier includes an additional USB-A and USB-C port that you can use to charge other devices.
