Google’s new Pixel 10 phones offer spec upgrades, camera improvements, and more AI features. The three models look very similar to last year’s Pixel 9 phones, so don’t expect any drastic design changes.
But when it comes to the standard Pixel 10And the larger, higher-spec Pixel 10 Pro Pixel 10 Pro XLPerhaps the biggest change is the addition of several shiny pro features to the cheaper model.
Although there are still some differences between the models, that difference is shrinking, as more high-level features move from the Pro to the base model. In general, they are powerful phones that rank among the best phones of this year Best phones.
Both the Pixel 10 ($799) and Pixel 10 Pro ($999) retain the prices of their predecessors, bringing them in line with their counterparts from other brands, such as Samsung Galaxy S25 ($799) and Galaxy S25 Plus ($999).
But the Pixel 10 Pro XL got a little more expensive this year, with its price rising from $100 to $1,199 (up from $1,099 for the Pixel 9 Pro XL with 128GB of storage), likely marking the higher-end 256GB storage option.

The Pixel 10 lineup looks almost identical to last year’s Pixel 9 phones, with most of the upgrades left under the hood.
All three phones retain the general design of last year’s phones: a metal back with a pill-shaped camera bump. The only major difference is that the glass in the Pixel 10’s camera bump is slightly wider, due to the third telephoto camera that fits inside it. All three models are slightly heavier than their predecessors (from 6g on the Pixel 10 to 11g on the Pixel 10 Pro XL), perhaps due to the increased nominal battery capacity.
The standard Pixel 10 retains its predecessor’s 6.3-inch OLED display, though its maximum brightness has been increased to 3,000 nits (up from 2,700). Likewise, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL inherit the 6.3-inch OLED and 6.8-inch OLED displays from their predecessors, but they also get a maximum screen brightness boost to 3,300 nits (up from 3,000).
Pixel 10 rear cameras.
As with other brands, Google has previously differentiated its standard and Pro models by reserving an additional zoom camera for its high-end phones. That changes this year, as the standard Pixel 10 gets a telephoto lens, narrowing the feature gap between the phone’s tiers.
The Pixel 10 has a 48-megapixel main camera, although the 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera represents a slight downgrade from the Pixel 9’s 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, meaning the new phone may not take sharp photos when set to its wider capture settings. The trade-off is the addition of a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x zoom that still adds a lot of functionality, even if it doesn’t take as high-resolution photos as the zoom cameras found in its professional siblings.
The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL retain the triple rear cameras of their predecessors: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x zoom. On the surface, not much has changed here, though they still play up to 8K video (better than the maximum 4K video on the Pixel 10).
The selfie cameras on all three phones are unchanged from last year, but they represent a boost when moving from the 10.5MP front camera on the Pixel 10 to the 42MP selfie camera on the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL.

This year’s Pixel 10 lineup gets the usual array of additional upgrades along with minor battery capacity boosts, which could have an impact, however small, on increasing battery life.
Like the other models, the Pixel 10 gets Google’s new Tensor G5 chip, which Google promises will deliver better performance than its predecessor, last year’s Tensor G4. The new phone inherits the Pixel 9’s 12GB of RAM and base storage options of 128GB or 256GB. If you want more, you’ll have to use the cloud options or pay more for the Pro or Pro XL model.
The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL also have the Tensor G5 chip, which helps power new AI features. Similar to the base model, the Pro versions inherit the same specs as their predecessors: 16GB of RAM and options of 128GB (Pixel 10 Pro only), 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage.
Across the board, all models get slight increases in battery capacity, though strangely the Pixel 10 Pro has the least at 4,870 mAh (up from 4,700 mAh on the Pixel 9 Pro). The second largest is the standard Pixel 10, which gets a boost to 4,970 mAh (compared to 4,700 mAh in the Pixel 9). The Pixel 10 Pro XL has the largest battery at 5,200 mAh (up from 5,060 mAh).
The Pixel 10 Pro XL also has a charging advantage for its battery, with a maximum of 45W wired charging, compared to 30W on the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro. All three support Qi2 wireless charging.
All three Pixel 10 phones receive Android 16 out of the box. It was released in June, a month after Google I/O 2025, which is much earlier than when it would normally be released (usually alongside that year’s Pixel phones). They’re also getting a slew of new AI features like Magic Cue, which collects data from Gmail, Google Messages, Google Calendar, and other information sources to display timely details and events.
