I drink a Protein shake Every morning. It’s not because I’m ripped or swollen (although of course I am) but it’s quick and easy and doesn’t spike my blood sugar. I can throw in a handful of berries and peanut butter In the blender To get some fiber and vitamins while I push my kids around the house to get them to school in the morning. Maybe you’re eating Enough protein anyway. But if you’re also looking for alternative breakfast or snack ideas, I’m a fan.
My personal protein powder is Be Well By Kelly Chocolate Grass-Fed Beef ($60)But I fully admit that you shouldn’t have to eat like Gaston to get your daily protein requirements. Orgain’s protein powder blends pea, brown rice, chia, and mung bean proteins to hit all nine essential amino acids and contains 21 grams of protein per serving, plus 4 grams of fiber, prebiotics, and 15 grams of carbohydrates. It also blends surprisingly creamy, considering it’s dairy-free.
Our top pick for protein powder, Optimum Whey, is also $5 off. This is a favorite of gym rats for understandable reasons – it’s affordable, widely available, and tastes good. Reviewer Buthaina Shukran uses it for baking by replacing a few scoops of flour in her banana bread.
our The preferred protein powder for athletesPromix Grass-Fed Whey Isolate is also on sale. These Promix microfilters contain less than 1 gram of lactose, making them a great choice for sensitive stomachs. Each serving provides 30 grams of protein, 6.6 grams of BCAAs, and 14.2 grams of essential amino acids. Promix is also a nail polish, no guts here. It works well in shakes and baked goods.
