California prohibits loud commercials on Netflix, Hulu and other broadcasting services


California has passed a new law aimed at calming the loud ads on broadcasting platforms such as Netflix, Hulu and Prime Video, which requires commercial sizes to match the levels of the content. California Governor Gavin New Zoom Law on monday.

Starting July 1, 2026, broadcasting services will not be allowed “to transfer commercial ads with a louder voice than the advertisement video content,” according to the text of the bill.

“We heard the residents of California out loud and clearly, and what is clear is that they do not want commercials in a higher folder than the level they were previously enjoying,” said Governor Newsom in A. press release. “By signing SB 576, California calls this inconvenience via broadcasting platforms, which was not previously subject to the commercial size systems approved by Congress in 2010.”

The legislation is designed similar to the tumultuous mitigation law in the commercial advertisement (calm), which in 2010 prevented the sound of television ads from broadcasting with a louder voice than broadcasting the TV program. With this new legislation, broadcasting services must comply with the same commercial size regulations as traditional TV broadcasters in California.

The Senate Law 576 of the Senator California Tom Omburg, who was martyred with a complaint from his legislative manager, Zak Keeler, was composed about how the noisy volume of commercial advertisements were broadcasting from the born daughter of Keeler, Samantha.

“This law was inspired by the child Samantha and every tired father finally got a child to sleep, only to obtain a flowing advertisement that retracts all this hard work,” Senator Thomas Omberg said in the press statement. “SB 576 brings some peace and calmness that is needed for the families of California by ensuring that the advertising broadcast is not higher than the offers that we really want to see.”
