Search operations for devices in the American border record height, new data shows

American border agents have searched more electronic devices during a three -month period than ever, according to new government statistics.

the Data shows Customs and US Border Protection, the agency in charge of examining immigration on the American border, has searched 14,899 devices from international travelers between April and June, an increase of 17 % on the previous record registered in early 2022.

Most of these “basic” searches, as American border agents request a password for the traveler and look at its contents without using the equipment.

While citizens cannot be refused to enter the United States, their devices can be seized indefinitely for rejecting them in search of the device. Visitors can decrease, but they will face rejection from the country.
