Amazon’s Kuiper recently gets a launch date. On Tuesday, Amazon An agreement announced With Australia’s national broadcast network to provide Internet satellite service to 300,000 qualified customers in rural remote areas in Australia in the “mid -2026”.
This announcement comes five years after the Federal Communications Committee was awarded for the first time, Amazon, then the publication of a constellation of satellites for the low -Earth orbit similar to the SPACEX swimming Starlink service. Since then, Amazon 78 has launched a satellite project at Kuiper – much less than 8,073 Starlink Sareletts Action In orbit.
“The vast geography in Australia represents unique communication challenges that cannot be overcome of the traditional infrastructure often,” said Joe Lathan, director of the Keper project in Australia and New Zealand, in a statement. “This partnership with NBN is our commitment to resolving these challenges through innovation and cooperation.”

This is the first time that Amazon set a fixed launch date at Kuper Internet service. On a page updated on June 5Amazon said she plans to start providing customer service “in late 2025”. The company did not mention where Project Kuper will be available or service cost.
Amazon did not immediately respond to CNET’s request for further comment.
