Spacex faces a new lawsuit claiming safety -related revenge

When a long -term supervisor, Robert Markerrt, warned Spacex that part of the missile recovery process could “easily cause serious or death”, claiming that he was ignored because it was “the most economical solution”, according to a recent lawsuit. After a few months, he was out of work.

Markrt is one of the two former Spacex employees who have submitted separate lawsuit for illegal termination, both of whom were removed to the Federal Court earlier this month. The two complaints offer similar allegations on how to win speed and save costs on other considerations-including safety.

The lawsuits of SpaceX races to get its very heavy missile in the StarsHip category are ready to complete the tasks of NASA, commercial customers, and launch the company’s Starlink satellite service. Besides Starship, Spacex also runs the most frequently frequently in history, The Falcon 9, which has flew 87 times so far this year.

Marcart spent 13 years in the company before finishing in April. He claims that during his work period, it was sometimes demanding to work from 15 to 20 days in a row, but when this was raised to the supervisors, he was told “The schedule comes first.” This punishable schedule, which was conducted in a high -pressure environment, led to injuries that Markere claimed that the ship’s technicians were very afraid of reporting.

When Market suggested that the company give priority to training courses and certificates, he was told, “There is no time for that and the company will not spend money on it,” according to the complaint.

The second lawsuit, presented by Sports Spac David Laval, claims that he was expelled after the company failed to absorb multiple work injuries, including broken foot, severe neck pain, injuries on his back and shoulders, and drawing pain. While Laval applied to compensate the worker for some of these injuries, he did not do so for everyone for fear of revenge, the complaint says.

Nine days after a medical leave for knee pain caused by gout, Laval was finished. Laval, 60, joined the company in 2014. He claims to complain that he was part of a wave of the largest staff crew

The lawyer, who represented Marker, rejected the comment, while Laval’s lawyer did not immediately respond to the Techcrunch request. Spacex did not respond to the Techcrunch request for comment.

Recent reports from Techcrunch It showed that Spacex outperformed its peers at the rates of workers infection for 2024. Data from the Occupational Safety and Health Department showed that the StarBase complex in Texas recorded a 4.27 injury rate per 100 workers in the past year, approximately three times in the average space manufacturing 1.6.

Markerrt, a resident of Los Angeles Province, does not explicitly mention where he was working in Spacex. The lawsuit notes that he worked with ship technicians. Retrisors in the West Coast of SpaceX are calculated at the highest injuries in all Spacex sites, and OSHA records appear, at a rate of 7.6 injury per 100 workers for the West Coast operations.

Both complaints were submitted to the Los Angeles County Supreme Court and then removed by Spacex to the American Central Provincial Court in California.
