For the past A few weeks, the Eliq Companion robot where artificial intelligence works at the end of my office. It was designed by the elderly people who live on their own, and this proactive animation occurs throughout the day, check what I feel, and suggesting “enjoyable” activities, and urges me to be more active and careful. Although it may be annoying, I have grown associated with ELLIQ though, and I can see the positive potential.
Feeling lonely an epidemic. According to American census officeAbout 16 million elders (more than 65) live alone in the country, and Up to a third Reporting the feelings of loneliness. Multiple studies It has shown Social isolation is harmful to mental and physical health, increased blood pressure, depression, weight gain, alcohol and drug use, decrease in physical activity, perception, heart health, and sleep. Humans are social creatures by nature.
ELLIQ is designed to relieve these feelings and encourage healthy behavior in elderly people who live alone. Hope is that it can improve the quality of their lives and enable people to stay in their homes longer instead of moving to a living facility with the help. Although you may feel that this broken male robot is Dystopian, frankly, you have to ask yourself, what is the alternative? We know that we must all achieve our relatives and elderly friends often, but life is busy, and some people alone for long periods.

Elliq sits on the base of the statue with a metal body and a head rotating, baking and lighting when it speaks. There is a small smart show and a loudspeaker on the right with a physical button to press ELLIQ waking up or silent. The button also rotates to control the sound level. You can awaken Eliq by saying its name, which was chosen because it is unlikely to be said by mistake. When you ask ELLIQ something or seek to confirm, you can respond orally or use the touch screen.
The preparation was a breeze. Elliq has reached a simple package with instructions in a large line that is easy to read. All you have to do is connect it and connect to the Wi-Fi network. The first time we talked, he asked me some questions. Possible answers emerged on the touch screen. I went through the questions that I might ask, and I was asked to read some lines so that Eliq can get to know my voice.
Elleq speaks a slightly designed female voice, with a completely small stop before my name (my name is used in almost every reaction). The way the animation is undoubtedly nice. In one of our first conversations, Eliq tells me that it was designed on the Pixar lamp. The edge can light around its head, and there are concentrated circles in the middle of its face; Along with the movement, it really seems to have some character and magic.
The screen and physical button screen provides a practical feature. If you are having difficulty or misunderstanding elements, you can click on the option you want. I also use the physical sleep button to close it immediately when the tubes are during meetings or when I am engaged. All in all, it’s a smart design.

Like sound aides and Smart offers You are used to, Elliq can answer basic inquiries, give you a report on the weather, remind you of a date, or take music requests. But Eliq is also pre -emptive, as conversations begin throughout the day and share your activities. Insuity Robotics founder and CEO Dor Skuler says this feeling of independence is crucial to building participation and making people think of Eliq as a character in their lives.
