Lattice CEO says that humans offer “checks and balance” a necessity for artificial intelligence.

Among all the words in the dictionary, Sarah Franklin says that the “balance” may be its favorite – especially when it comes to companies that build artificial intelligence.

Franklin is leading the employee performance software company in Jacques Germany, which is now worth $ 3 billion. Both are on the stage in SXSW London and in a conversation with Techcrunch, I talked a lot about balance – opportunities to find it, and the risk of not being during this AI revolution.

“We put people in the first place,” Franklin told Techcrunch, referring to Lattice, who started adopting more advantages of artificial intelligence and automation.

Although some companies promote Amnesty International as a way to replace huge numbers of workers, some technology leaders speak more explicitly about the importance of achieving balance in their companies: keeping human employees while strengthening them with artificial and “agents” assistants. In SXSW London, Franklin said that the search for replacing all human workers may seem a good -term idea for reasons for costs, but this step may not be attractive to customers.

“It is important to ask yourself,” Do you build for the success of artificial intelligence first (or) that you adopt for the success of people and your customers first? She said, adding that confidence is the most important currency for any founder or startup, and that building confidence with consumers is very important. “It is good that you have efficiency, but you do not want to trade confidence.”

Franklin also stressed the importance of transparency, accountability and responsibility when it comes to the prosecution. Leaders must be transparent with employees about what artificial intelligence does, and artificial intelligence must be applied narrowly to a specific goal in order for people to understand how it works, and humans must ultimately be responsible for what artificial intelligence affects.

“Otherwise, we are then in the service of artificial intelligence against Amnesty International in service from us,” Franklin continued.

In an interview with Techcrunch after her appearance SXSW, Franklin said that Lattice built HR AI’s agent that provides pre -emptive visions and helps employees in individual meetings. The company also has a platform where Lattice customers can create their agents allocated to their business.

Franklin was insisting that humans should be on any company’s Amnesty International technology. “It is a way to get the regular checks and balances that we are accustomed to in our workforce.”

She believes that the victors at the moment of artificial intelligence in history will be the ones who learn how to put people first. According to Franklin, it is one of the most important handrails that the company can obtain on artificial intelligence.

“We all bear the responsibility for making sure that we are doing this for the people of society,” Franklin said. “The human relationship cannot be replaced, and the winners will be the companies that understand it.”
