Last week, Google quietly released an application that allows users to run a set of artificial intelligence models openly available from the AI Dev platform that embraces their phones.
The name Google Ai EdgeThe application is available for Android and will soon come to iOS. It allows users to find compatible models, download and operate them, create pictures, answer questions, write, edit code and more. Models operate not connected to the Internet, without the need for an internet connection, and benefit from subsidized phone processors.
The artificial intelligence models that work in the cloud are often more powerful than their local counterparts, but they also have negative aspects. Some users may be careful not to send personal or sensitive data to a distance data center, or want to get available forms without having to find Wi-Fi or a cellular connection.

Google Ai Edge, which you call Google “Alpha Testing Edition”, can be downloaded from GitHub with a follow -up These instructions. The home screen shows shortcuts and capabilities of artificial intelligence such as “Ask Image” and “AI Chat”. Click on the possibility of withdrawing a list of the appropriate models for the task, such as Google’s GEMMA 3N.
Google Ai Edge Gallery also provides users of “laboratory” users that users can use to start the tasks of the “single -run” powered by models, such as summarizing the text and rewriting. The laboratory is required by many tasks and training settings to control the behavior of models.
Google warns. Modern devices with the most powerful devices will run the models faster, but the size of the model is also important. The largest models will take longer to complete the task – for example, answering a question about an image – more than the smaller models.
Attractive Google members in the developer community to make notes on the Google Ai Edge experience experience. The application is under APache 2.0, which means that it can be used in most contexts – commercial or otherwise – without restriction.
